periocepive system

 periocepive system

The proprioceptive system is your body’s “position sense” system

It tells your brain where your body parts are without needing to look at them.

Proprioception, otherwise known as kinesthesia, is your body’s ability to sense movement, action, and location. It’s present in every muscle movement you have.

The proprioceptive system provides:

Awareness of body position → lets you know where your arms, legs, and other body parts are, even with eyes closed.

Kinesthesia (sense of movement) → helps you feel and control how your body is moving within your surroundings.

🔑 Together, proprioception and kinesthesia allow you to move smoothly, keep balance, and interact with the environment without constantly watching your body.

Which of the following is not considered to be a primary function of the perioceptive system ?

(A) Provide awareness of the position and kinesthesia within the surroundings  (true)

(B ) Produce coordinated reflex to maintain muscle tone and balance (true )

(C) Provide peripheral feedback information to the central nervous system to help modify movement and motor response. (not true  )

(D) Provide cushioning to joints during impact.
